Miami Heat's D-League Affiliate Making NBA Presence

With the opening of training camp in the NBA, various teams around the league are looking for players to fill up their rosters going into the 09-10 season. The NBA Developmental League has become a prime market for teams to round out their lineups and has made a presence in the NBA as of recent: 114 strong.

With that said, the Miami Heat's D-League affiliates, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, has many former players currently in the NBA as of the '09 training camp inception. A total of eight former Skyforce members are now either on or competing for a team in the league. They include:
The Heat are trying to foster a closer relationship with the Skyforce, similar to that between the San Antonio Spurs and Austin Toros, in order to maximize their talent pool and give players a shot in the NBA. Heat fans can recognize a few players currently on the Skyforce roster that were a part of the 2007 season: Kasib Powell and Bobby Jones.

It will be interesting to see what kind of talent emerges from the Skyforce this season. Don't be surprised if the Heat give a few fellow members a chance to make the team. After all, Miami only has 13 players on their current roster with the league maximum at 15.
